From a conversation I had Saturday
“If you aren’t voting, you’re just handing the election over to the devil.”
~anon
I won’t get into this oversimplification too much. Between the lines, I think this kind of statement is driven by fear. Somehow, we are to hold the powers of evil at bay, by voting? I see voting as an endorsement, and if there is no one I can endorse, then there is no one I can vote for with a clear conscience. Until there is a candidate that I can fully endorse, my vote is mine to withhold.
I will criticize and scrutinize every authority regardless of whether I voted for them or not.
I will question the status quo.
I will not be ruled by fear, or guilt.
I will not be made to feel like I am a bad citizen because I do not cast a voluntary vote.
I will subvert every evil power that I am able.
I take care of my neighbors, I work for the life and well being of my neighborhood. Ask the people I live around, the other citizens of my city, if they think I am a good citizen.
When November 2011 comes around, I’m hoping there will be a candidate I can endorse for mayor of this city. It is time for a regime change. The city is holding its breath, waiting for someone to release the chains of power and injustice that have been suffocating it.

Go Dean!!!! As I see Nov, voting coming closer, I’m on the lookout for someone I can vote for and by doing so, say Yes, this is someone I can stand behind!!!! My problem is can I believe what they say??? Good people can be used by the devil to do evil, bad people can be used by God for good.
Write in!
